Expedition 33 Dominates at the 2025's Gaming Honors
The 43rd annual Golden Joystick Awards took place on Thursday, and with a remarkable show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the most decorated winner. The standout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive won the esteemed Top Game award, along with accolades for Best Storytelling and Top Visual Design.
Enhancing the developer's triumph, its skilled performers also received personal awards. Jennifer English was named Top Lead Actor for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Best Supporting Performer for his work as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive the studio received Studio of the Year. Overall, Clair Obscur and its developers won 7 awards throughout the event.
Other notable winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Outstanding Audio and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and Premier PC Title. Worth mentioning, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the gamers, with only four categories—Critics Choice, Breakthrough, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamers' Favorite—determined by reviewers.
