Check out Twenty-Nine Latest Cards from Magic's TMNT Set (Including a Commander Precon Deck!)

Everyone's beloved pizza-eating superheroes are coming to Magic: The Gathering. The popular trading card game's company, the game's creators, revealed a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration at a special panel held at NYCC. Could this be a exciting addition or yet another Universes Beyond cash grab? Let you be the judge.

Take a look here at all the details announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, including some useful background. All items mentioned here releases on March 6, 2026, with one exception — the Pizza Bundle arrives a couple of weeks after on March 27.

MTG x TMNT: Core Set Reveals

Before we get into the many special decks and collections on offer, we’ll examine at the full lineup from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set unveiled by Wizards. Standard booster packs for the set are priced at $6.99 per pack, while Collector Boosters should run $37.99 per pack.

Let's unpack a few surprising details. First, there's a new mechanic named Sneak Attack, which is a riff on the pre-existing Ninjutsu ability, in which players can play powerful creatures into the battlefield whenever an attacking creature goes unblocked. The key change here is that this new ability can apply to spells that aren’t creatures as well. Wizards also used this chance to clean up the mechanic a bit (Sneak counts as casting, unlike Ninjutsu). The original ability isn't going away, but it's more likely players will encounter Sneak in future sets from now on.

Should we go back to the Kamigawa plane, it’s possible we’d use Ninjutsu since that's where it originated and it’s a hallmark to that,” a senior designer stated. “But in other settings, because the rules are cleaner and the new ability will be Standard-legal, it’s probable we’ll use the updated version.”

Another version of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai card, is one of four special cards with special art created exclusively for the expansion by TMNT original artist Kevin Eastman.

Additionally, should you be surprised by the rules text on Turtles Forever, which allows playing game cards that aren't in your deck, so was I. Yet according to Wizards, it’s now a official card in all formats of Magic.

In any case, below are the extremely bizarre land cards with full art from the TMNT set:

Following the company’s current policy, all these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard play. The designers state they were careful to make sure the cards and gameplay elements worked smoothly with other Standard sets like Edge of Eternities.

“I led the design for over a year and we knew it was going to be in standard and what other sets would be alongside it in Standard,” the designer says. “We designed to make sure that there's synergy with certain expansions like Edge of Eternities.”

For example, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a blue-red archetype focused on artifact cards.

“They combine to provide the pieces for a enjoyable Standard-legal deck,” the designer added.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power!

Following a decision to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for Spider-Man and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, Wizards is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only one precon, but it includes six different legendary creatures that can serve as your commander depending on how you pair them (five of the cards include a unique Partner mechanic called “Character Select” that lets you start with two of them in the command zone instead of only one). Check them out below:

This Commander precon is priced at $69.99, although the price may rise based on popularity. Sources indicated that it includes 43 brand-new cards in total, which translates to an extra 37 TMNT-themed game cards in addition to the six legendary commanders pictured above. (Calculating roughly, this suggests about 20 reprints if we assume the precon includes 37 land cards.)

How will the TMNT edition of the iconic Sol Ring look like? Fans must wait and see.

Standard Bundle (Standard Edition)

As per usual, the company is selling a collection. It costs $69.99 and contains the listed items:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • Fifteen Foil land cards
  • Fifteen Non-foil land cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • One Foil promo card
  • 1 Large life tracker
  • 1 Card-storage box

Pizza Bundle

Here’s a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, primarily because it comes in a box resembling a pizza delivery box. Every Pizza Bundle costs $99.99 and comes with the following:

  • 9 Play Boosters
  • 1 Collector Booster
  • Twenty-five Non-foil pizza lands
  • 5 Traditional foil pizza-themed lands
  • 2 Foil Pizza Bundle promotional cards
  • 2 Reference cards
  • One Oversized spindown life counter
  • One storage box

If you’re wondering about the “Pizza Bundle promo card” means, it’s essentially a reprinted older card featuring all-new TMNT artwork. The team revealed one for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual depicting master Splinter sprinkling toppings on a pizza slice. There are six different Pizza Bundle promo cards in total.

The Pizza Bundle releases a couple of weeks later than the core set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This special bundle is designed for a four-person draft and is priced at $119.99. It includes:

  • Twelve Play Boosters (ideal for a group of four to play draft)
  • 1 Collector Booster (also known as, the reward for coming in first)
  • 90 Regular land cards (to build your deck)
  • 10 Non-foil double-sided tokens
  • 1 Draft insert (a single-page instruction sheet to drafting the set)

Turtle Team-Up

Lastly, the developers are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its ongoing effort to develop Magic game products specifically for new players. Here, Turtle Team-Up is a unique product of prebuilt decks that allow two players team up against a “Boss” enemy deck that plays automatically.

The concept here that every Boss card gives special abilities to the creature cards included in the Boss deck. Each Boss automatically plays an additional card each turn, and players begin fighting {one Boss|
